Huawei Mate 30 Pro to keep the wide notch. 

Smartphone companies today will go to any length to remove the infamous notch from the screen - we’ve seen sliders, pop-up cameras rotating units. Yet Huawei is seemingly planning to retain the wide notch on the Pro variant of the Mate 30, according to latest leaked screen protectors and shatter-proof glasses.

The front panel of the Mate 30 Pro reveals no less than five holes in the notch. One is definitely for the selfie camera; another is for the proximity sensor, there is a hole for the speaker too. Rumors are the Mate 30 Pro will bring ToF for face unlock and some AR/VR emojis.

One leakster suggested the same will happen to the Mate 30 as well - five cutouts, wide notch, the whole nine yards. However, a photo reveals the Mate 30 Pro will go for the extremely curved edges of the OLED, while the Mate 30 will have a more moderate curvateure. The side and bottom bezels will be extremely thin - the ones on the Mate 30 Pro are practically invisible, given they sit beyond the curved edges.
Huawei is staying silent on any eventual launch timeframe, probably waiting for the US-China trade war to settle down.

Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) appears on Amazon, to arrive on August 1

We’ve been hearing about the Huawei Y9 Prime (2019)  arriving in India  for the past few weeks, but we finally have confirmation. The device was listed on Amazon with its key specs and the launch date. The Y9 Prime (2019) is arriving on August 1 with an elevating selfie camera and three shooters on the back. The screen is 6.59” in diagonal, but it is likely an LCD since the fingerprint scanner is on the back. It has no notches, just a tiny bezel on the bottom because the selfie camera is in a pop-up mechanism. Huawei is officially shipping the Y9 Prime (2019) with Kirin 710 and 4 GB RAM, but at least it has 128 gigs of storage. The selfie shooter has a 16 Mp sensor and brings plenty of AI features, including “real-time image optimising in 8 scenes”. ZUI 11.1 update live for Lenovo Z6 Pro.

Following last month’s  ZUI 11.0  firmware update, Lenovo has begun issuing version 11.1 to  Z6 Pro users in China. Points of focus this time around are improvements to the camera performance, gestures and other system optimizations. Starting off with the camera, Lenovo is bringing EIS to the main shooter for smoother videos, there are also improvements to the low light performance in video mode alongside an automatic macro switch. ZUI 11.1 is also bringing back the U-touch gesture navigation and brings a new system theme. Other minor improvements to the experience include stability fixes and the latest security patch.
